Lanzarote - Golf Costa Teguise
Golf Costa Teguise is located on the island of Lanzarote. This island, completely volcanic, was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1993. The course is situated on the slopes of an ancient volcano, among volcanic lava, cacti and palm trees.
It was designed by the great architect John Harris and opened in 1978. The course design is soft and varied, with plenty of doglegs. Its narrow fairways are lined with over 3000 palm trees, enjoying breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Better if you don’t lose the fairway; otherwise you'll have to hit the ball in the middle of small lava stones that will damage your clubs.
The greens are noble, fast and medium in size. It has few traps, but they are big. Falling on them is a new experience, because the sand is volcanic, so the ball goes out differently (play out) and you could find it a bit difficult.
It is a proper length course (6163 from yellow) but for all types of players. You can play walking, because it has no hills, but it is long and between the tee of each hole and the fairway, you have to go down a path of volcanic gravel.
